Course Details

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence required for an individual to administer emergency first aid in the workplace. This includes being able to assess, diagnose and treat casualties prior to the attendance of medically trained staff.

Who is it for?
This qualification is for everybody who knows anybody. Whether you are self-employed or work in a gym or as a personal trainer, being able to give emergency first aid at work is an important skill for anyone. You could potentially save the life of someone you work with or who is a member of your gym or a person you are training. As fitness professionals, instructors or tutors, we have a duty of care to those we teach.

Candidates will learn:

• Identify the roles and responsibilities of a first aider
• Describe how to minimise the risk of infection to self and others
• Complete an accident report form
• Assess an incident
• Manage an unresponsive casualty
• Manage a casualty with external bleeding
• Assist a casualty who is choking
• Manage a casualty with a minor injury
• Manage a casualty who is in shock

Internationally recognised and H.S.E accredited certificate:  Emergency First Aid at Work (valid for 3 years).
